Target Audience:This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, physicians, and other health and legal professionals involved in the treatment and care of victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
This webinar will provide attendees with a working knowledge of how to identify what elder abuse is in a culturally appropriate context and what resources they have to help patients.
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Define and discuss elder abuse.
- Discuss demographic and cultural information about the elder tribal populations.
- Explain nursing roles in identifying and responding to elder abuse and what resources are available.

Trisha Sheridan, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC, SANE-A, CFN
Ms. Sheridan is an advanced practice nurse and has been a certified SANE for over three years. In addition she has been a Forensic Nurse Program Coordinator for over a year. In both roles she has had the opportunity to work with older victims of violence. In addition, Ms. Sheridan is the task force coordinator on the IAFN’s Nursing Response to Elder Abuse curriculum update.
