Statement of Need/Program Overview:

This webinar will discuss the health and social impact of toxic stress, including family substance abuse on children. Providers will learn how to identify ways that they and their community can change the trajectory of children exposed to toxic stress.

Deborah Shropshire, M.D.

Faculty Bio

Dr. Deborah Shropshire has been a pediatrician providing clinical care to children in foster care for over fourteen years. For the past nine years she has also served as the Medical Director for Oklahoma's Department of Human Services Child Welfare division. She has received numerous awards for her work. Dr. Shropshire's extensive experiences with children who have been subjected to toxic stress make her qualified to speak on this subject. However, it is her belief that we can influence toxic stress to become tolerable stress which makes this presentation informative, innovative, and valuable.
